Like clomethiazole, although a bromine, instead of chlorine for this compound; bromethiazole HBr, it is structurally related to thiamine (vitamin B1). Pharmacologically; a sedative, hypnotic, muscle relaxant and anticonvulsant, having the same mechanism of action as traditional barbiturates and the Bromine is an anticonvulsant in itself. It is a thiazole compound. Related to sulfurol carbamate, sulfurol and clomethiazole HCl.
