CL-218,872, an imidazopyridine derivative of zolpidem/related as core structure of zolpidem and a nonbenzodiazepine with similar properties to benzodiazepines, which is of a sedative and hypnotic nature. CL-218,872 is a GABAA partial agonist which is selective for the α1 subtype. It is sold by Syntharise Chemical as a research chemical used in scientific research for in-vitro use and for screening/comparative studies of similar structures. Apparently it is similar to triazolam as well, but is structurally different and not an analog of benzodiazepines or a derivative. A Non-benzodiazepine hypnotic with apparent similarities in-vivo in animal studies to zolpidem as well.
